Uzma Fauzan a confident and extremely well spoken young woman, runs a boutique and tailoring outfit from her home in Liaqatabad. She takes small and large orders mostly from her immediate neighborhood as well as friends and acquaintances as far away as Canada. She also makes on order, a bride’s entire trousseau. Lately she has made a small beginning in the accessories range, making cloth and beaded handbags to go with the clothes she sells.

She took a loan of Rs.30,000/- from Tameer solely to help tide over future financial needs. Many local and overseas clients place orders without paying the initial deposit and at times delay making the final payment. The loan money will be used if she runs short in completing an order otherwise it will just be there providing her a sense of security and well being.

She heard about Tameer by word of mouth and from day one of stepping into the Bank’s premises to ask for a loan has never had any second thoughts of not having done the right thing. Right from the Branch Manager to the junior officers, all have helped her process her loan without a hitch. Most of all she has been shown great respect and warmth.

Uzma has a school going daughter of 15 and her husband is an officer at the General Tyre Co. To my question if her husband supported her, Uzma, being the confident and independent person that she is said , yes, he most certainly did but only moral support. She did not want any financial support from him as then this would surely cause rifts and issues in her home. A wise decision maker – within her family and outside with Tameer !
