Loan: Rs 50,000
MOHAMMAD RAFIK took a loan of Rs 50,000 from Tameer in December 2006, in order to boost earnings from his 15 year old furniture business. He works out of a warehouse in Manzoor Colony, where he has 6 – 8 workers, producing everything from beds to chairs and desks, using high quality sheesham wood. Rafik is one among several furniture producers in the area. He is aware that competition is fierce and wants to rise above his opponents by increasing production. The Tameer loan has helped him to increase profits by purchasing automatic machines and bulk wood. “This loan is helping my business and in 6 months I am going to apply for a top up”, says Rafik with determination. He lives with this wife and three children.
