Rs 30,000

SHIEKH MOHAMMAD WARIS availed a RS 30,000 entrepreneurial loan from Tameer in order
to purchase raw material. He runs a small garment manufacturing unit in Pakistan Bazaar that produces hand embroidered cloth and designed and painted fabrics for women. Waris is a college graduate and is now getting a diploma in fashion designing. He wishes to apply any skills he learns to his work.

This is the first time Waris has had access to a formal source of funding and he is now making plans for the future. “I want to expand my unit and make it a proper factory. Before I took the loan had no future plans.” He hopes that in the future, Tameer will extend its 12 month loan tenure and that guarantors will be allowed to take loans too.

Waris was born in Patna, India, where most of his relatives still live. His family moved to  Pakistan shortly after partition and he is a habituated Pakistan Bazaar resident.
