MAHMOODA NAWAZ claims to be the first animal school bag makers in Karachi. She started this innovative business ten years ago and today is selling her products to outlets around Karachi under their own brand name ‘Panda’. In addition to school bags, Mahmooda makes purses, wallets and milk bottle holders, all beautifully disguised as stuffed animals.

Mahmooda took a loan from Tameer in July 2006 in order to purchase raw material and increase her output. Business is going well now and she plans to get a top up from Tameer in December.

She lives with her husband in North Karachi and has one daughter.
