Name: Nadeem Baksh
Home Town:
Khuda ki Basti, Karachi, Pakistan
Business:
Fruit Juice Seller
Loan:
Rs 10,000

Like many others in Khuda ki Basti, NADEEM BAKSH moved here so that he could buy and live in his own property instead of paying rent. He now lives in his own house, one half of which he has given out on rent.

Nadeem earns a living by selling fresh lemon and orange juice. It is a lucrative business because it was easy to set up, does not cost much to maintain and given that the weather here is always on the hotter side, sales are excellent. Nadeem took a loan of Rs 10,000 from Tameer in June 2006 and used it to open another juice shop. With the additional income, Nadeem is saving up to buy another property for his family.
