MULLAZIM HUSSAIN moved to Khuda ki Basti with his family six years ago when they heard about the low cost housing scheme operating in the area. They now live in their own house and Mullazim earns a living by selling vegetables. He took a loan of Rs 20,000 from Tameer in June 2006 to buy fresh produce he would other wise purchase on credit. With the added income, Mullazim is saving up to “buy my own house! At the moment I live with my parents but I would like to be independent and stand on my own two feet.”
