MOHAMMAD SHAH JEHAN owns a jewelry shop in Pakistan Bazaar. He had studied jewelry making in a vocational centre close to where he lived and started his shop by buying raw materials from outlets in Saddar.

He recently took a RS 20,000 loan from Tameer to increase his working capital. This is Shah Jehan's first loan and he feels his business now has a chance to improve and grow.

He lives with his wife and five children in Pakistan Bazaar and moved to Pakistan from Bangladesh in 1971. “Bhutto brought me here,” says Shah Jehan casually.
