Name: Shaheena Yaseen
Home Town:
Malir Town, Karachi, Pakistan
Profession:
Sewing
Loan:
Rs 20,000

SHAHEENA YASEEN took a loan of RS 20,000 from Tameer to buy an electric sewing machine. The new machine works better and faster than her traditional, hand operated machine and she is able to produce far more than before. “I love sewing with this new machine, it is just so much faster and more fun!” says Shaheena enthusiastically. “Now all I need is a steady supply of electricity!” The majority of Shaheena’s work consists of sewing trousers for boy’s school uniforms; with more schools opening in the area in the near future, she is looking forward to a steady stream of orders. Shaheena acquired her sewing skills at the Sara Sewing Center, close to her home in Malir, where she has lived for the past 7 years. She heard about Tameer through her husband who works for ZIMS Security and was at one time stationed at our Head Office. She has two small children and would like to move to a bigger house in the future.
