Nadeem Hussain
President and Chief Executive Officer
Nadeem Hussain is the President and Chief Executive
Officer of Tameer Microfinance Bank.
Prior to his appointment at Tameer, Nadeem spent 27 years with
Citigroup, his last appointment being Country Manager for Citibank’s
Iraq Operations within the Corporate Banking and Investment Division.
Nadeem has held several senior management positions with Citigroup in
all major financial centers. Whilst based in the UK before his
appointment in Iraq, he was instrumental in starting and managing
CitiSolutions, the consumer bank’s financial advisory and services
division for Western Europe, where the expected strength of the
distribution force was 20,000 individuals, making it the largest in
Western Europe. The target market was the middle-income individual who
was under served.
Prior to his UK assignment, Nadeem served as General Manager and Head of
Consumer Banking for Citibank, Pakistan. Under his guidance, Citibank
Pakistan pioneered the concept of consumer banking, with the
introduction of credit cards, auto mobile financing and residential
mortgage financing. Nadeem effectively turned the bank around after it
went into loss due to the freezing of foreign currency accounts in 1998.
During this time, Nadeem was appointed to the Board of Directors for
Pakistan's prestigious Institute of Business Administration, served as
Chairman of the Y2000 Bank Committee and the Overseas Chamber of
Commerce and was a member of the Government of Pakistan Investment
Advisory Board
As Country Risk Manager with Citigroup in Hong Kong and China, Nadeem
was responsible for managing a portfolio of $4 billion in risk assets
associated with the hand over of sovereignty from the UK to China. While
in Hong Kong, he was instrumental in establishing a liquidity and asset
protection program.
Nadeem also worked in New York, Greece, Bahrain and Riyadh for Citibank
in credit, risk and relationship management roles.
Nadeem joined Citibank in Saudi Arabia in 1979 immediately after
receiving his BA in Economics and Accounting from Muhlenberg College in
Pennsylvania.

Shahid Mustafa
Group Executive Director, Finance and Risk Management
Shahid is the GED Finance for Tameer Microfinance Bank and directly
responsible for the financial management and reporting of the affairs
and activities of the bank. Additionally, he has oversight
responsibilities for the bank’s risk management and treasury officer.
Furthermore, Shahid serves on Tameer's Management Committee. Shahid has
12 years of experience in credit, corporate finance, remedial and
relationship management with Citigroup, since 1993.
Prior to joining Tameer, Shahid was Group Head of Financial Institutions
for Citibank, United Arab Emirates, responsible for key bank and
non-bank FI clients and regulatory relationships in the UAE. Over the
course of his 12-year career at Citibank, he served as a member of local
management committees for Global Corporate and Investment Banking and
held senior relationship and credit management positions with local and
regional responsibilities in Financial Institutions covering Saudi
Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Bahrain and UAE.
Shahid began his career as an engineer with a leading global
pharmaceutical firm in Pakistan, before he joined Citigroup in 1993.
Shahid graduated from University of Engineering and Technology,
Pakistan, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
(Communications) and holds an MBA degree from Lahore University of
Management Sciences (LUMS) where he secured a silver medal in the
graduating class.

Ali Abbas Sikander
Group Executive Director, Operations and Technology
Abbas is Group Executive Director of
Operations and Technology at Tameer Microfinance Bank and is responsible
for overall Operations and Technology infrastructure deployment, support
and day-to-day running of central operations. He is also member of the
Board of Directors.
Abbas has had vast exposure with multinational banks over the past 15
years, with expertise in development, management, sales and solutions,
delivery of cash management, trade and treasury products to Corporate,
Private and Institutional customers. Abbas has a successful track record
of managing technology based product rollouts for Citigroup as well as
Standard Chartered Bank in Pakistan, the US, UAE and other Gulf
countries.
Prior to joining Tameer, he was based in Dubai looking after export
agency finance transactions in the Middle East for Citigroup. He also
worked with Operations and Technology Product Management for Citigroup
in the UAE, where he was responsible for managing all aspects of
e-Business sales from origination to closure, forming e-Business
alliances for 'indirect sales' with major enterprise resource planners
and core banking providers in the region to position and differentiate
Citibank's e-Business products.
Abbas joined Citigroup in 1995 in Pakistan as a part of the team which
set up a transactional banking unit in the country. During his
association with the bank he held various positions including Electronic
Banking Head, e-business Sales Head and e-banking Product Development
Head in various countries and at regional levels. He was also part of
Citigroup's first Internet banking quality assurance team for Europe,
the Middle East and Africa, based out of Miami, Florida.
From 1998 until 2000, Abbas worked with Standard Chartered Bank in the UAE as
the Regional Business Development Manager for Middle East and South Asia
for its transactional banking group, covering Bangladesh, Sri Lanka,
Pakistan, Oman, Qatar and UAE.
Prior to joining Citigroup, he worked as a senior management consultant
with Ferguson Associates, a part of Price Waterhouse, covering it’s IT
and Business Process Re-engineering practice. Abbas also worked with
Merrill Lynch Future Inc. as a Technical Analyst from 1990 to 1991 in
New York, USA.
Abbas studied at Pennsylvania, Rutgers, New Jersey Institute of
Technology and Columbia Universities in the US, where he acquired his
undergraduate, graduate, non-degree and post-graduate qualifications in
Physics, Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.

Tariq Mohar
Group Executive Director
Sales, Distribution, Collections, Administration and Business
Development
Tariq is Group Executive Director, Sales, Distribution, Collections,
Administration and Business Development at Tameer Microfinance Bank.
Prior to joining Tameer, Tariq served as Executive Vice President, Group
Head Business Support & Collections at United Bank Limited (UBL). He was
instrumental in successful incorporation of the revamped Collections
Department and reorganization and up-gradation of government sector
establishment into a dynamic business support to match the vision of the
bank. He also reactivated collections of the dead portfolio of
non-performing loans with an effective recovery stream.
Before UBL, Tariq was Vice President, Branch Banking Head, Citibank,
Pakistan from 2000 to 2003 where he turned around the liability business
from revenue negative to positive, with an over 35% contribution to
business earnings before interest and taxes .
Tariq retired as Brigadier in 1997 from the Pakistan Army and joined
Citibank Pakistan as the Country Collections Manager in 1997 where he
turned around Collections from a business issue to the Best Practice of
the Business. He was responsible for strategic reorientation of
Collections from back end to critical contributors of business
development by defining new dimensions of risk thresholds.
Prior to Citigroup, he served as Director Budget Pakistan Army from 1992
to 1993 where he introduced structured mechanisms to articulate end
operational / strategic directions.
Tariq was also Commander of the Artillery Brigade, 1993 to 1995. In
addition to operational responsibilities, he had additional task of
internal security duties in Sindh.
Tariq has a Masters in Political Science and a BA (hons) in War Studies
and is a Graduate of the US Army Finance School and the Graduate Pak
Army Command and Staff College.
