During the first phase of the agreement, expected to last until June 2006, DIG will play a critical role in helping TAMEER management with strategic planning, product design, training, and operations management support. DIG's senior staff will remain closely involved throughout all phases of this important partnership for microfinance in Pakistan, and DIG has also fielded a Resident Training Advisor in Pakistan. TAMEER, capitalized initially at US$ 10 million, was created by a group of private investors, with the participation of OPIC, IFC and other institutional investors.
